Palimpsestos de la Patria Colonizada
Fictitious renderings of two maps with indigenous symbols pertaining to Colombia (left) and Cuba (right) etched on PlexiGlass Panels. Countries that faced an erasure of both culture and history this transparent maps will create shadows on the floor beneath them that projects different renditions of maps (mostly unrecognizable) that draws a connection to the way that resources from these countries and their people have been used to harvest from Spanish, and American colonization. The viewer becomes the explorer as they try to piece together the maps and visuals.
